Book Description: Friendless and forlorn at Penford High School, when April Bowers is befriended by queen bee Britney Taylor, she thinks her dull social life is getting brighter. That is, until she finds out that sometimes popularity comes with a price, especially when the Lipstick Laws are involved.  In this entertaining story that explores social hierarchies, friendship, body image, peer pressure, high school crushes, and revenge, April discovers that some laws are very hard, if not impossible, to follow…

Amy Holder cleverly combines humor, adolescent angst, and pertinent teen issues to create an engaging read that teenagers will be able to relate to.

Author Bio: Amy Holder was born and raised in upstate New York, where she was dubbed the “artsy” one by her family at an early age. Never far from art supplies, Amy would often be spotted making messes…er, masterpieces… in the name of creativity. Her love of creative expression swiftly translated to an infatuation with books and the written word, a much tidier creative outlet. After an artistic break to study psychology in college, and work in the early education and social service fields, Amy has finally found her way back to her creative roots by juggling both writing and freelance design work. Today, she lives in the Philadelphia area with her furry sidekicks (pets), and enjoys passing on her love of creative expression through the quirky characters who fill the pages of her stories.
