December Giveaway
It’s the 11th of the month, and we all know what that means, right? We’re all late on our holiday shopping. (Or maybe that’s just me.) In less depressing news, it also means that it’s time for our December contest! Since last month’s contest was limited to newsletter recipients, the winner of the huge Class of 2k10 prize pack was announced in the December newsletter. You ARE signed up for it, right? If not, go here and sign up via the form.
This month, we’re making it super-easy—all you need to do is leave a comment on this post to win. You can also get extra entries by coming back to comment on any of our Wednesday posts in December. We want to make your post-holiday letdown a little less letdowny, so we’re giving away a $25 Amazon gift card so you can buy the books that Santa missed. That’s right! Just leave your comments by January 4th and you’re automatically entered into the drawing. The winner will be announced here on January 11th.
While we’re talking (or more accurately, I’m babbling and you’re politely bearing with me), I’d like to give you an idea of what to expect from our monthly giveaways next year. Starting on January 11th, we’ll be running a monthly Pick 3 contest. Our goal is simple: we want to provide activities that require little to no prep time, that get readers engaged with books, and that are cheap. (Hey, I’m being honest here.) So we’ve put together three activities that meet those criteria. Readers can make title mashups, design book covers, or take fun photos of their hands on 2k11 books. We hope these activities will be useful on those days when you realize you’ve got a book club/class activity/blog post to plan, and there’s nothing up your sleeve. Or those days when you’re just plain bored and avoiding the things on your to-do list! Not that I have experience with that…
Of course there will be prizes. We’ll be giving out advanced copies of our books marked up with special notes from the author with lots of inside info that NO ONE ELSE WILL HAVE. (I want one of these so bad.) We’ll also be giving out finished copies, virtual or in person author visits, lots of other fun stuff. These drawings will be random, so there’s no need to worry that your junior high artwork will be judged against a bunch of high schoolers and grownups. But we will be giving away big prizes at the end of the year to the entries that made us laugh, cry, gasp, or some combination thereof.
And if you need a little extra incentive to get people to participate, we’ll send you a little swag pack so that your readers can score a signed bookmark or postcard for their efforts. Email us at info@classof2k11.com to get one…until we run out, that is. So make sure to contact us early!
Suffice to say, we are super excited about this project, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with. Do you have questions? Drop us a note or ask in the comments.
